A new method for the conservation of ancient colored paintings on ramie textiles

Abstract Textiles are valuable cultural heritage items that susceptible to several degradation processes due their sensitive nature, such as the case of ancient ma colored-paintings. Therefore, it is important take measures protect precious artifacts. Generally, ″ma″ includes ramie, hemp, flax, oil kenaf, jute, and so on. In this paper, an examination analysis a painted textile were first step in proposing appropriate conservation treatment. Standard fiber light microscopy used identify type textile. Moreover, custom-made reinforcement materials technology introduced with principles compatibility, durability reversibility. The properties tensile strength, aging resistance color alteration new material be added studied before after dry heat aging, wet UV aging.
